A Cappella groups travelled to Kettering Fairmont High School

Members of Evolution and Encore, the two a cappella groups at Winton Woods High School, traveled to Kettering Fairmont High School in Dayton to participate in their annual a cappella festival on Saturday, November 12. “This year there were over 20 schools from four states at the festival,” said Elizabeth Barth, director of the Winton Woods a cappella groups.
“Each our of groups got to perform for and have a clinic with two members of the professional a cappella group, Sonos, who competed on the current season of the television show The Sing Off,” said Barth. “The groups got great feedback about their musicality, intonation and ensemble sound and also learned techniques on how to connect with the song's lyrics and how to share the story of the music with the audience members.”
Barth said the students also participated in workshops with specific topics such as solo singing, vocal percussion and technology within an a cappella group. The day culminated with a concert featuring Mister Tim and Sonos. “This festival continues to be one of the highlights of the year for our a cappella groups,” said Barth.
