The Winton Woods High School Varsity Ensemble will join Maestro John Morris Russell, the Cincinnati Pops, guest artist Sandy Patti and the May Festival Chorus for three holiday concerts in December. The performances are Friday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m.
“We’ll be singing ‘Deck the Halls,’ ‘Home for the Holidays,’ ‘Go Tell It on the Mountain,’ ‘Jesus, O What a Wonderful Child’ and ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas,’” said David Bell, choir director for Winton Woods High School. “Another number, ‘I Believe,’ was written especially for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and was sung by Kermit the Frog on network television last year. It really provides an opportunity to showcase our young voices and youthful energy.
“We’re grateful to Maestro John Morris Russell and Pops Manager Sam Strater for their confidence in our program and our students,” Bell added. “Not many schools have this kind of opportunity.”
